Blake Tollison Shelton (born June 18, 1976) is a country music artist and TV personality from the United States. His first single, “Austin,” was released in 2001. “Austin,” the album’s lead hit, spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Two more top 20 songs (“All Over Me” and “Ol’ Red”) were included on the now Platinum-certified debut album.

The Dreamer, released in 2003, and Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill, released in 2004, are both gold and platinum albums. In 2008, his fourth album, Pure BS (2007), was re-released with a bonus track that included a cover of Michael Bublé’s pop song “Home.”In November 2008, he released his fifth album, Startin’ Fires.

The extended plays Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight were released in 2010, while the albums Red River Blue and Red River Blue were released in 2011. In 2013, he released the films Based on a True Story…, Bringing Back the Sunshine, If I’m Honest, Texoma Shore, and Fully Loaded: God’s Country. In 2019, he will release Fully Loaded: God’s Country.

Shelton has 40 hits on the charts as of December 2020, including 28 number ones with 17 of them being consecutive. “The record for the most consecutive No. 1 singles in the 24-year history of the Country Airplay chart” was broken with the 11th No. 1 (“Doin’ What She Likes”). He has been nominated for nine Grammys.

Shelton is also recognised for his roles as a judge on NBC’s The Voice and as a coach on Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs. Richie Shelton, Blake’s older brother, died in an automobile accident when he was 14 years old in 1990. “Over You,” a song by Lambert and Blake, is about Richie.

The song was selected Song of the Year by the Country Music Association in 2012. At the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards, it also won Single Record and Song of the Year. Shelton and Lambert divorced in July 2015, according to reports. In a statement, the couple said, “We are moving forward separately because this is not the future we envisioned.

We’re real individuals with real families, friends, and coworkers. As a result, in this very sensitive matter, we respectfully request privacy and compassion.”  Later that same day, their divorce was formalised.  Shelton began dating No Doubt vocalist Gwen Stefani, a former Voice teammate, in late 2015. Shelton and Stefani got engaged on October 27, 2020, after dating for five years.

Todd Tilghman was named the winner of The Voice’s eighth season in 2020, making Shelton the series’ seventh winner. Shelton won his eighth season as a coach in 2021, when his finalist Cam Anthony was proclaimed the champion. Body Language, Shelton’s twelfth studio album and first in more than four years, was released on May 21, 2021.

The singles “Happy Anywhere” and “Minimum Wage” were released ahead of the album’s debut. Shelton has been praised by musicians and writers since his debut in 2001. “The most influential and prominent envoy from Nashville to the American mainstream,” according to the New York Times.  “One of country music’s biggest stars in the last decade,” according to Rolling Stone.

Miranda Lambert and Trace Adkins, respectively, praised Shelton in the GAC television special Backstory: Blake Shelton, which aired in 2012. Lambert remarked that she “respect[s] him so much as a vocalist,” while Adkins stated that he “will be as relevant in this business for as long as he wants to be.”

Brenda Lee, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, praised his vocals as well as his lyrics. Sheryl Crow, a singer and songwriter, cites Shelton as a musical inspiration. Shelton was elected to the Grand Ole Opry in 2010 and was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2014.

Following a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma in October 2013, Shelton gave $20,000 to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. The funds will go towards the department’s outdoor education programmes. “The Wildlife Department’s youth education activities are a vital method to bring youngsters back outside,” Shelton remarked after receiving the donation.

He gave $600,000 to the Jimmy Everest Center, a University of Oklahoma College of Medicine facility for children with blood cancer and blood abnormalities, in September of 2016. Shelton’s donation was made possible by a pair of concerts he performed in Oklahoma City that raised the monies.

Shelton claims to have a personal connection to the hospital because his cousin’s daughter, Aspen, was diagnosed with cancer and had treatment there.At that same institution, he established the Blake Shelton Cancer Research Program.Shelton made a $50,000 donation to his hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, in February of 2018. Ticket sales at his restaurant, Ole Red, helped him raise the funds.

He gave a private concert on March 13, 2019, to commemorate the weeklong grand opening of his Ole Red Gatlinburg location. Shelton received $29,214 in ticket sales and donated $54,214 to the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School music programmes, along with a $25,000 donation from Ryman Hospitality Properties.

Shelton decreased the price of his items and gave a portion of his sales to the MusiCares COVID-19 relief fund for a limited time between the end of March and the beginning of April 2020.Shelton donated $150,000 to the “Give from Home Day” fundraiser in April 2020, a collaboration between KOCO 5 in Oklahoma City and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help feed the hungry amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
