She is a co-founder, main vocalist, and principal songwriter for No Doubt, whose singles include “Just a Girl,” “Spiderwebs,” and “Don’t Speak” from their debut studio album Tragic Kingdom in 1995, as well as “Hey Baby” and “It’s My Life” from later albums.

Stefani began her solo pop career in 2004 with the release of her debut studio album Love. Angel. Music. Baby, which she released during the band’s break. The album was a critical and financial success, inspired by pop music from the 1980s.  “What You Waiting For?,” “Rich Girl,” “Hollaback Girl,” and “Cool” were among the six singles released from the album.

“Hollaback Girl” was the first US download to sell one million copies, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  Stefani’s second studio album, The Sweet Escape, was released in 2006, and it was her best-selling record. “Wind It Up” and “The Sweet Escape,” which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 year-end chart in 2007, were among the hits.

This Is What the Truth Feels Like (2016), her third solo album, was her first to chart at number one on the Billboard 200. In 2017, she released You Make It Feel Like Christmas, her fourth solo album and first full-length Christmas album, which placed 19 tracks on Billboard’s Holiday Digital Song Sales component chart in the United States.

Stefani has collaborated with Blake Shelton on many singles, including “Nobody But You” (2020), which charted at number 18 in the US. Gwen Renée Stefani was born on October 3, 1969, in Fullerton, California, and reared as a Catholic in nearby Anaheim.  Her middle name, Renée, is derived from the Four Tops’ 1968 cover of the Left Banke’s 1966 song “Walk Away Renée,” and she was named after a stewardess in the 1968 novel Airport.

Dennis Stefani, her father, is an Italian-American marketing executive who previously worked for Yamaha.  Patti , her mother, is of Irish descent. Before becoming a housewife, she worked as an accountant. Stefani’s parents were folk music aficionados, and she was exposed to performers such as Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris as a child.

Stefani has an older brother, Eric, as well as two younger siblings, Jill and Todd.  Before leaving No Doubt to work as an animator on The Simpsons, Eric was the band’s keyboardist. Stefani designed the majority of the outfits she wore on stage with No Doubt, resulting in an ever-changing wardrobe.

Stefani’s design company, L.A.M.B., was founded in 2004 when stylist Andrea Lieberman exposed her to haute couture apparel.  Guatemalan, Japanese, and Jamaican styles are all incorporated throughout the collection.  Stars including Teri Hatcher, Nicole Kidman, and Stefani herself have worn the line.

In

June 2005, she added the Harajuku Lovers line to her collection, which she described as “a glorified commerce line” containing a camera, phone charms, and underwear. Stefani’s “Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Fashion dolls” were released in late 2006 as a limited edition series of dolls. Stefani and the Harajuku Girls donned the dolls while on tour to promote the record.

Stefani debuted her L.A.M.B. clothing and accessory line in late 2007, which included a perfume called L. Sweet pea and rose are prominent in the perfume.  Stefani launched her Harajuku Lovers product line in September 2008, which included a fragrance collection. In collaboration with Tura Inc., she started releasing cheap eyewear under the GX label. Stefani revealed in 2014 that she and the Harajuku Girls would be the subject of an animated series. Stefani collaborated on the show alongside Vision Animation and Moody Street Kid,starring herself, Love, Angel, Music, and Baby as HJ5, a band that fights evil while pursuing their musical dreams.

Kuu Kuu Harajuku was distributed globally by DHX Media, with Mattel as the global toy licensee. Stefani started dating Tony Kanal, one of her bandmates, shortly after he joined the group. “All I ever did was look at Tony and pray that God would let me have a kid with him,” she said, indicating that she was deeply invested in the relationship.

Kanal dissolved their romance, and the band was on the verge of breaking up. Stefani’s lyrical inspiration came from their breakup, and many of Tragic Kingdom’s tracks, including “Don’t Speak,” “Sunday Morning,” and “Hey You!” describe their relationship’s ups and downs.

Stefani co-wrote the song “Cool” for her 2004 first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby, which was inspired by their friendship. When No Doubt and headline band Bush played at a holiday performance for radio station KROQ in 1995, Stefani met Gavin Rossdale, the lead singer and guitarist for Bush.

They tied the knot in St Paul’s, Covent Garden, London, on September 14, 2002. Two weeks later, the couple married again in Los Angeles. Stefani and Rossdale have three kids, born in May 2006, August 2008, and February 2014, respectively.  Stefani filed for divorce from Rossdale on August 3, 2015, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.

Rossdale agreed to a “unequal distribution” of their assets in their divorce, which was formalised on April 8, 2016. In November 2015, Stefani revealed her relationship with Blake Shelton, a country music musician and The Voice co-star. On October 27, 2020, the couple announced their engagement, and on July 3, 2021, they married at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma.
