Originally an alternative hip hop group, they later rebranded as a more commercial pop-rap outfit.  Despite the fact that the band was formed in Los Angeles in 1995, it wasn’t until the release of their third album, Elephunk, in 2003 that they saw significant success.

Monkey Business, their fourth album, was a worldwide success and was certified 3 Platinum in the United States. With their singles “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for an unprecedented 26 weeks, the group became one of only 11 musicians to do so.

The E.N.D.’s third Hot 100 number-one hit, “Imma Be,” made the group one of the few to ever have three number-one singles from the same album, before being followed by “Rock That Body” and “Meet Me Halfway,” all of which charted in the top ten. “I Gotta Feeling” was the first single in the UK to sell one million downloads.
