Bon Jovi is a rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey, that was formed in 1983. Keep the Faith, a double-platinum album from 1992, was the band’s comeback album. This was followed by their best-selling and longest-charting single “Always” (1994) and the album These Days (1995), which was a greater hit in Europe than in America, with four Top Ten hits in the UK. Following a second hiatus, the band’s 2000 album Crush, notably the lead song “It’s My Life,” was a success in reintroducing the band to a younger audience, and the band regarded it as their comeback record. Bounce, released in 2002, was the band’s follow-up album.

The band incorporated aspects of country music into some of the songs on the platinum albums Have a Nice Day (2005) and Lost Highway (2007), including the Grammy-winning 2006 hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” which was the first single by a rock band to reach No. 1 on the country charts. The Circle (2009) was the band’s first return to its rock roots. Both the 2005–2006 Have a Nice Day Tour and the 2007–2008 Lost Highway Tour were among the Top 20 highest-grossing concert tours of the 2000s, while the 2013 Because We Can Tour was among the highest-grossing of the 2010s.

Richie Sambora departed the band just before an April show on the Because We Can Tour to spend more time with his family after recording and publishing Because We Can in 2013. Burning Bridges, the band’s twelfth studio album and the first sans Sambora, was released in 2015. Bon Jovi continues to perform and record; in 2016, the band released This House Is Not For Sale, which charted at No. 1 and was praised by the band as a good album that largely reminisces about the band’s past.

The band announced a tour for April 1 of the following year on January 7, 2022. In 1991, Richie Sambora released a solo album called Stranger in This Town, which he co-wrote with Tico Torres and David Bryan. “Mr. Bluesman,” a song on the album, features Eric Clapton. After being hospitalised with an illness caused by a South American parasite, David Bryan composed a soundtrack for the horror film The Netherworld, which was the brightest part of his year.

Alec John Such injured his bass-playing hand when he fell off his motorcycle, causing him to learn a new technique to hold and play his instrument.Jon Bon Jovi was cast as the lead in numerous films in 1997. Jon wrote his second solo album, Destination Anywhere, in between filming movies. Around the time of the album’s release, a short film starring Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, and Whoopi Goldberg was made, based exclusively on the songs from the album.

Torres took advantage of the chance to further his painting career, while Bryan began writing and composing musicals. Sambora’s second solo album, Undiscovered Soul, was released in 1998.While recording What About Now in 2012, the members of the band resumed their solo careers. Jon Bon Jovi wrote and recorded two songs for the Al Pacino film Stand Up Guys, while Sambora recorded and released his third studio album, Aftermath of the Lowdown, in October 2012, and backed it with a short world tour.

Torres concentrated on golf, competing in a number of competitions, while Bryan made a brief appearance on May 26, 2012, in Fantiscritti, Carrara. The musical style of Bon Jovi has been described as glam metal arena rock, hard rock,  Pop rock, heavy metal, and The band’s first two albums incorporated elements of glam metal and hard rock.

Slippery When Wet and New Jersey, their follow-up albums, have a more marketed glam metal vibe to them.  On Keep the Faith, they gave their pop-metal sound a “more sombre approach.”  They “established [them] as an adult contemporary group” with their sixth album, These Days.  Crush was defined as “far enough into pop/rock to actually stand a chance of gaining radio,” while Bounce as “heavy, serious rock.” Crush was said to be heavier than Have a Nice Day.

In their following album, Lost Highway, the band radically changed their sound, fusing influences from country music and country rock to create a sound that Jon Bon Jovi described as “country rock with a twist.” “a Nashville-inspired Bon Jovi album.” On The Circle, Bon Jovi reverted to a more traditional rock sound, as Allmusic put it “echoed, delayed guitars, shimmering keyboards, and spacious rhythms create up this atmosphere.
