Fergie Duhamel ( born Stacy Ann Ferguson; March 27, 1975) is an American actress who was born on March 27, 1975. is a singer, songwriter, and actress from the United States of America. As a member of the hip hop group the Black Eyed Peas, she first earned chart success. The Dutchess (2006) was her first solo album, and it was a financial triumph, with three number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

She does not consider herself a rapper, despite the fact that she does include rapping in some of her performances.Fergie began her career as a member of the girl group Wild Orchid and the children’s television show Kids Incorporated. She quit the band in 2001 and joined the Black Eyed Peas the following year. Before releasing her debut solo album, The Dutchess, in 2006, she worked with the Black Eyed Peas on two albums.

She stayed with the Black Eyed Peas and released two more albums with them, The E.N.D. (2009) and The Beginning (2010). (2010). In 2009, Fergie formed her own band and started travelling. In 2017, she released her sophomore solo album, Double Dutchess. Fergie has also starred in films such as Poseidon (2006), Grindhouse (2007), and Nine (2009). Her debut fragrance, Outspoken, was released in May 2010 through Avon, and she has since produced four more.

Fergie studied dancing and started doing voiceover work, as Sally in two made-for-TV Peanuts cartoons, It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984) and Snoopy’s Getting Married, Charlie Brown (1985), as well as four episodes of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. She was the longest-running cast member of the TV sitcom Kids Incorporated, appearing in six of the show’s nine seasons from 1984 to 1989. Fergie was a part of the female trio Wild Orchid, which she fronted alongside Stefanie Ridel and Renee Sandstrom, who she met on the set of the TV show Kids Incorporated.

The girls met with record labels in 1992, but they were unable to secure a recording contract. Before negotiating a record deal with RCA Records in 1994, they secured a music publishing arrangement with Sony Publishing. requested Fergie to try out for a song called “Shut Up” while the Black Eyed Peas were making their third album, Elephunk (2003). She got the job and quickly became friends with the guys, recording five more songs for the CD. Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine offered Fergie a permanent slot to take over vocal responsibilities and fill the vacuum created by backing vocalist Kim Hill’s departure in 2000 just before the release of Elephunk the following spring, shortly before the release of the album.

 

Rolling Stone wrote in a positive review of the Black Eyed Peas’ new style that since 2002, when the group “hired a blond bombshell named Stacy ‘Fergie’ Ferguson and gave up their pursuit of backpack-rapper cred, they have made a kind of spiritual practise of recording futuristic songs – a total aesthetic commitment that extends from their garish wardrobes to their United Colors of Benetton worldview,” the group “has made a kind of spiritual practise.

The Black Eyed Peas’ first significant hit was “Where is the Love?” from Elephunk, which reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one in various other countries. The album’s lead single, “Shut Up,” went on to become the number one single in a number of countries. “Hey Mama,” the album’s third single, charted in the top ten in a number of European nations before reaching number 23 in the United States in 2004. Fergie revealed in 2013 that she was working on her second solo studio album.


Fergie was honoured by Logo TV in April with the “Always Next, Forever Now” award for her contributions to the LGBT community.  That same year, Fergie filed a claim in Los Angeles County Superior Court to legally alter her name to Fergie Duhamel and adopt her husband’s surname. Fergie started working on her second studio album on January 6, 2014, according to a press release. In an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest, she indicated that the production would be handled by will.i.am, with Interscope managing the distribution.

Fergie’s second studio album was set to be released in 2015, according to news released in September 2014. On September 30, 2014, Fergie released a new track called “L.A. Love (La La)” to contemporary hit radio. The song debuted at number 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 27 on the chart.  It also charted at No. 16 on the Rhythmic Songs chart, No. 8 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, No. 24 on the Digital Songs chart, and No. 20 on the Pop Songs radio chart.

 

As part of David Guetta’s concert at the 2015 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the singer performed a song with the Black Eyed Peas on April 22, 2015. Fergie revealed in June 2015 that she was wrapping up her album, Double Dutchess. On June 9, 2016, a “Hungry (1st Byte)” teaser for the album was published.Her next single, “M.I.L.F. $,” was released on July 1. Following the birth of her son Axl, Fergie was inspired to write the song.

Fergie created the music video, which stars a number of celebrity mothers dressed as lingerie-clad housewives in the 1950s.  The third single from the album, “Life Goes On,” was released on November 11, 2016.  Fergie confirmed the album’s release date in November 2016 during a live Facebook conversation.  Fergie stated in May 2017 that she had severed ties with Interscope due to a mutual agreement and will start her own label, Dutchess Music, as part of a global deal with BMG Rights Management.

Fergie’s departure from the Black Eyed Peas was suggested in a Billboard storey on June 2, 2017. Will.i.am, the band’s vocalist, denied this, but did say that Fergie was leaving the group to focus on her solo career while the other members worked on a side project. [83] On August 25, 2017, the album’s pre-order became available, along with instant downloads of “Hungry” and “You Already Know,” Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj collaborations, respectively, with the latter serving as the album’s fourth single.

Fergie played a solo act live from the Rock in Rio stage in Rio de Janeiro on September 16, 2017, with surprise guests Pabllo Vittar, Sergio Mendes, and Gracinha Leporace in front of over a hundred thousand people .On September 22nd, 2017, Double Dutchess was released.In an interview with the Daily Star on February 18, 2018, will.i.am revealed Fergie’s departure.

Fergie sang a contentious performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, which was described by People as a “slowed-down jazzy interpretation” and Deadline as “bluesy” and “breathy.” Later on, she would admit it “Clearly, the tone of this version was not intended. Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas met Josh Duhamel when they recorded a cameo for an episode of Duhamel’s show Las Vegas in September 2004.


Fergie and Duhamel married in a Catholic wedding on January 10, 2009, after they became engaged in December 2007.  Axl Jack Duhamel, their only child, was born on August 29, 2013.  Fergie and Duhamel confirmed their separation on September 14, 2017, after a year of dating. After two years of separation, on June 1, 2019, the couple filed for divorce.  In November of this year, the divorce was completed. Fergie developed a crystal methamphetamine addiction while performing with Wild Orchid, which she carried with her after she quit the band in 2001.

Fergie spoke to Time magazine in September 2006 about her decision to stop using crystal meth. She said, “It was the most difficult boyfriend I’ve ever had to break up with.” “Addiction is caused by the drug. What’s more intriguing is why you started doing it in the first place. I learned to repress my emotions a lot as a kid actress.”  Fergie has revealed in various interviews that she uses hypnotherapy to overcome her crystal meth addiction and relax.
