Hannah Tointon’s parents, Ken and Carol Tointon welcomed her into the world on December 28, 1987, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. She grew up with her older sister, Kara, as her only sibling. Almost immediately after Hannah’s birth, the family relocated to Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, where she began her early education. Kara and Hannah had been inseparable since Hannah was a toddler.
Kara and Hannah were best friends. Hannah has had a cyst the size of a button under her right eye since she was born. It was sticking out of her mouth. People began to notice it as she grew older, despite the fact that she had not previously paid attention to it. It was removed only after she reached the age of twelve. Hannah asserted that she had never been bullied at school because of her cystic condition.
Despite this, she also said that she preferred to spend time with her family, which she described as her “comfort zone.” Hannah’s older sister, who was seven years old at the time, took an interest in acting and joined a local theatre organization. Because she was so close to her, Hannah decided to join her sister in taking acting classes. Over time, she developed an interest in pursuing a career as an actor.
When Hannah was 12 years old, she experienced a life-altering event that changed everything. She went for an audition for a role in a ‘West End’ musical titled ‘Whistle Down the Wind.’ She was successful. She was initially apprehensive about taking part in it. She did, however, eventually become accustomed to singing and dancing in the show. Throughout the following several years, she continued to appear in theatre productions.
Following her high school graduation from ‘St. Michael’s School’ in Leigh, went on to study painting at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Acting offers, on the other hand, had already begun to stream in for her. As a result, she dropped out of school and dedicated her life to acting full-time. Hannah Tointon began dating Joe Thomas, her co-star on the television show “The Inbetweeners,” in 2010.
In 2017, they made the announcement of their engagement. Dougie Poynter, the bassist for the band ‘McFly,’ has been a romantic interest of hers in the past. Hannah once stated in an interview that she was terrified of heights and that skydiving was her biggest fear of them all. She was born and reared in Essex, and when she was seven years old, she decided to join an acting group because her sister was also a member of the group.
She gradually came to terms with the world of acting and performing in theatre. As a result of witnessing her co-actors perform on stage, she believes that she has learned everything she knows about acting without ever attending drama school. When she was younger, she landed a modest role in the television series ‘Star,’ and later landed the lead role in the children’s series titled ‘Kerching!,’ which earned her a lot of attention.
She began her career by appearing in the television series Dream Team,’ and went on to make cameo roles in other shows such as ‘New Tricks’ and Murder City.’ In 2007, she received her first major break in her acting career when she was cast in a regular part in the long-running British television soap opera ‘Hollyoaks.’ ‘Walking with the Enemy’ and ‘The Lost Future’ were among the films in which she participated after making her feature film debut in 2006, and she went on to play key roles in them.
Hannah had her acting debut in the 2003 television series ‘Star,’ in which she played the minor role of ‘Billie.’ Hannah has since appeared in several other television shows. Her first television appearance was in the children’s comedy-drama series “Kerching!” in which she played the role of “Tamsin,” one of the major characters. Hannah appeared in 20 episodes of the season-long show, which aired for a total of 29 episodes.
The following year, she was cast in the television series Dream Team,’ in which she played the part of Savannah Caskey. She appears in a total of 12 episodes of the show. The program was a major critical and economic success, and it continues to be so. It was in 2005 that she appeared in a single episode of the television series ‘The Bill,’ where she played the character of “Celina Johnson.”
It was in 2006 that she made her feature film debut, appearing in a small, uncredited role in the romantic comedy ‘Just My Luck.’ The picture earned unfavorable reviews and was just a moderate financial success at the box office. Her guest appearances on television series such as ‘Murder City’ and ‘New Tricks’ continued throughout the year. Her next appearance was in a brief role in the television series ‘Genie in the House,’ which aired later that year.
At the beginning of 2007, she appeared in a guest role in the television series ‘Doctors,’ in which she played a doctor. ‘Hollyoaks’ was the soap show in which she landed her first major part, and this was the role that launched her career. Hannah had been a student at the time of the soap opera’s inception in the mid-1990s when it had been running nonstop since then.
She later dropped out of college in order to feature in the series. In the soap opera ‘Hollyoaks,’ she portrayed the role of ‘Katy Fox,’ who was a regular character (2007 and 2008). She went on to reprise her part in the film in 2017. Following her appearance on the renowned daytime television show, her fame skyrocketed. In 2008, she made her big-screen debut as ‘Casey,’ one of the principal parts in the British horror-thriller film ‘The Children,’ in which she starred as one of the main characters. Despite the fact that the picture earned generally positive reviews from reviewers, it was considered a financial failure at the box office.
Hannah, on the other hand, received high appreciation for her performance. When she appeared as ‘Tara Brown’ in the very popular British sitcom titled ‘The Inbetweeners,’ she achieved yet another career high point. Her role, ‘Simon’s gorgeous girlfriend,’ appears in the second, third, and fourth episodes of the third season as the character’s beautiful girlfriend. Her first major film job was as a supporting actress in the post-apocalyptic film titled ‘The Lost Future,’ in which she played the part of Giselle.
Sean Bean starred in the film as the lead character. It had a mixed reception from critics and was only a moderate financial success at the box office. Her guest performances on television programmes such as ‘Sinbad’ and ‘The Midnight Beast,’ which aired in the early 2010s, were notable. Hannah Bright was one of the supporting characters in the supernatural comedy–drama series ‘Switch,’ in which she appeared as a supporting character. She made an appearance in six episodes of the show.
‘The Hour’ was her first television appearance, and she has since been in a number of other shows, including ‘Midsomer Murders,’ ‘Death in Paradise,’ and ‘Midsomer Murders,’ in which she has played recurrent roles. Ms. Selfridge made her television debut in the historical drama ‘Mr. Selfridge,’ where she played ‘Violette Selfridge,’ one of the main characters. She also had a role in the 2018 comedy film ‘The Festival,’ in which she played the primary character ‘Caitlin.’ The film had a mixed response from critics and audiences alike.
Having followed in the footsteps of her older sister, Kara Tointon (who is best known for her four-year stint on EastEnders in the mid-’00s), Hannah Tointon has had a number of scene-stealing roles, including Katy Fox in Hollyoaks and Tara Brown in The Inbetweeners (remember that awkward bedroom scene?). Oh, and she’s engaged to her Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas (who portrayed the really awkward Simon Cooper), with whom she’s been dating for more than seven years and who she met while working on the show.
Hannah has most recently appeared in the film The Festival, in which she co-starred with her fiancé Joe, as well as television series such as Mr Selfridge and Penny Dreadful. Despite the fact that she has a long list of impressive acting credits to her name, Hannah is arguably best recognised for her year-long tenure as Katy Fox on Hollyoaks from 2007 to 2008, as well as her role as Tara Brown, Simon’s girlfriend, on The Inbetweeners in 2012. Hannah made her television debut in the second season of The Inbetweeners as Tara Brown, Simon Cooper’s girlfriend.
A real-life romance blossomed between Hannah and Joe Thomas, who portrays Simon on the show. The couple has been dating since the show’s premiere in 2007. They got engaged in the beginning of 2017. The 33-year-old actress is most known for her role as Katy Fox, Warren Fox’s sister, on Hollyoaks, which she played from 2007 to 2008 and again in 2017.
Katy appeared in a total of 85 episodes of the serial, and she had an important role in several significant storylines, the most notable of which was Clare Cunningham’s vengeance. Tara featured in three episodes of the show, and she ended up becoming Simon’s girlfriend despite the fact that the other three males didn’t like her.
