Judd Nelson was the only son of Merlon and Leonard Nelson’s three children. While his mother was a mediator for the court and former member of the Maine State parliament, his dad worked as a corporate lawyer.

He studied at St Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, with academic competence. Later he attended in Portland, Maine, Waynflete School. He graduated in Pennsylvania from Haverford College but left after his sophomore year.Finally, in 1980, he came to Manhattan to study with the Stella Adler Conservatory.

He made his debut as an actor in the movie ‘Making the Grade’ in 1984. For the film, he played the role of Eddie Keaton, an intelligent street.

The following year saw this rising actor as an icebreaker, cast in John Hughes’ film The Breakfast Club. In the film, he depicted the part of a hard teenager. The film was a big smash and gave him the stature of a star.

He made his TV debut with ‘Moonlighting’ the same year. He featured as a police officer in the Camille episode with Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Williams.

In 1987, the popular miniseries ‘Billionaires Boys Club’ were released as a thriller in the courts based on genuine events. His flawless portrait of the character won him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award

He made a significant note of excellent performances over the decade in the William Lustig thriller, “Relentless,” the road drama for Adam Rifkin, “Never on Tuesday” and “Far Out Man” for Tommy Chong.

In 1990 he played a full role in the second world war drama ‘Hiroshima: Out of the Ashes.’ The picture was based on and after the horrific tragedies in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

He has appeared in a few films from 1991 to 1993, including “The Dark Backward,” “New Jack City,” “Primary Motive” and “Entangled.” While the first two were based on the comedy genre, the latter were suspense pictures. He also appeared in one episode of the popular “Tales from the Crypt” TV series.

He starred in four films of different genres in 1994. While the first was a ‘Airheads’ comedy, the following picture was a psychological ‘Flinch’ thriller. He was later placed into the ‘Blindfold: Acts of Obsession’ thriller. From ordinary playing he has extended his artistic efforts and played in the thriller ‘Every Breath’ as the writer, producer and actor

In 1996, he played a major role on NBC TV sitcom, ‘Suddenly Susan.’ The series ran four seasons and was a tremendous smash.

After that, he starred in ‘Steel and the urban gangster thriller ‘Light It Up,’ a commercially unsuccessful movie. He concluded the decade with a biopic on Alan Freed’s life entitled ‘Mr Rock & Roll: the Story of Alan Freed.’

In 2000, he played in the “Cabin by the Lake” psychological thriller. He also appeared in the television series ‘The Outer Limit.’ After the year, he updated his sequel part, ‘Back to the Cabin by the Lake.’

During the decade he played many TV series: “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “CSI: NY,” “Las Vegas,” “Eleventh Hour” or “Psych” and the recurrent character in the show, “Two and Half Men.” In 2009, he replaced his role in the movie ‘Transformers animated’ as Rodimus Prime.
