When Olamide Gbenga Adedeji was born on March 15, 1989, he was born in Bariga, Lagos State. Adedeji is one of three children born to Pa Adedeji and Ronke Osisanya Adedeji, his second wife. TemmyGold Olamilekan and Eniola Olamilekan are Olamide’s two siblings (who is also known as DJ Enimoney).

In 2010, Olamide released his first song, “Eni Duro,” which marked the beginning of his career. He also appeared at the Hip Hop World Awards that year. Due to financial issues, he had to leave his studies in public communication at Tai Solarin University. Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman, the wife of Adedeji, is the mother of their two children.

Toni Payne was his manager at ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes record label.  He founded his own record label, YBNL Nation, in 2012 after leaving Coded Tunes.

Rapsodi, Olamide’s first album, came out in 2011. In Lagos and throughout Nigeria, Omo To Shan’s lead track charted on a number of local and national radio stations. A number of musicians collaborated with Olamide on his first album, including Wizkid, ID Cabasa, 9ice, Reminisce and D’banj.

YBNL, the follow-up to Adedeji’s debut, was released in November of that year. Tyrone (producer), Samklef, 2 Kriss, Pheelz, and ID Cabasa were involved in its production. It includes Davido, Tiwa Savage, Kayswitch and Dammy Krane, Reminisce and Samklef as well as Buckwylla, Minus 2 and Base One as guests. The album was produced by Davido. “I lefo Illuminati,” “First of All,” “Stupid Love,” and “Voice of the Street” were some of the singles that accompanied it.

Olamide’s third studio album is titled “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth”. On November 7, 2013, YBNL Nation released it. [11] Pheelz, Buckwyla, Ketchup, Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Endia, Viktoh, B.Banks, Phyno, Pele Pele, and Bez were all featured musicians on Olamide’s album between 2012 and 2013. “Sitting on the Throne” was produced by Pheelz, but the rest of the record was done by him.

“Durosoke,” “Turn Up,” “Yemi My Lover,” and “Eleda Mi O” were the four singles that accompanied “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth.” On its list of the top five Nigerian albums still to be released in 2013, Premium Times newspaper featured the album. On Afrikka Radio’s selection of the top 12 greatest Nigerian albums of 2013, it came in 12th place.

The 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards named Baddest Guy Ever Liveth Best Album of the Year, while the 2014 City People Entertainment Awards nominated it for Rap Album of the Year.  It was named Album of the Year and Best Rap Album at the 2014 Headies.

Olamide secured a record contract with DB Records in May of last year, according to news reports at the time. According to Olamide, the rumours were false. “Too late” to sign him, he stated in a NdaniTV The Juice interview with Toolz.

Olamide’s Street OT, his fourth studio album, was released on November 14th, 2014, through YBNL. After his 2013 Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album, he has released a new album.  Pasuma and Phyno are among the artists who perform in Street OT, which was preceded by the “Story for the Gods” and the “Goons Mi” tracks. Pheelz, B-Banks, and Young Jonn were all involved in its creation.  ‘Streets’ is a term Olamide uses often, and the album’s title is a nod to Olamide’s affinity for it.

In 2015, Olamide and Phyno released their joint album 2 Kings. On April 1, 2015, Penthauze Music and YBNL Nation published it via Cloud 9 and the iTunes Store without much fanfare. Wizkid, Lil Kesh, Storm Rex, Pheelz, Major Bangz, B.Banks, and Young John are among the producers and performers that contributed to the album.

Pre-album, Olamide teamed with Phyno on “Ghost Mode” and “Dope Money,” two of their most popular tracks. “Une” and “Confam Ni” were two of the album’s singles that were released prior to its release. the 23rd of November 2015 saw the release of Olamide’s Eyan Mayweather, his fifth studio album.

Olamide surprised fans with the EP 999 on February 10th, 2020. Pheelz produced the majority of the album’s nine tracks. Phyno, Maximilliano (Olamide’s son), and others make appearances. Molotani Alake of Pulse TV awarded the project a 5.5/10 rating, while Tooxclusive rated the project 6/10.

As of 18 February 2020, YBNL Nation and Empire have inked a Joint Venture agreement, which would allow the release of Olamide’s music worldwide. Fireboy DML and any other new artists signed to YBNL Nation would also share in the benefits of the partnership, according to him. In 2020, Olamide released his eleventh album, Carpe Diem.

Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, Peruzzi, Bad Boy Timz, Bella Shmurda and Phyno are among the artists featured on Carpe Diem’s 12 songs, which were produced by Young John, Idcabass and VStix. On the 1st of June 2021, the Olamide Music Chart on Twitter said that the album has crossed the 500 million stream milestone.

When Olamide made the announcement on March 16, 2021, that he was no longer working on a follow-up album, everyone was surprised.
