(born 8 November 1985).

He later said that he chose the well-known “Fourth of July” US Independence Day date so he wouldn’t forget his anniversary. Osbourne created a song for his daughter Aimee, which debuted on the album Ozzmosis as a B-side. “I’ll always be your angel,” she says at the end of the song, referring to the chorus lines. His son Jack was the subject of the song “My Little Man,” which appears on Ozzmosis. The Osbournes split their time between their Buckinghamshire property and their Los Angeles residence.

Though Osbourne has long been accused of being a Satanist, The New York Times reported in 1992 that he was a devout Church of England member who prayed before each show. For that year’s event, Fox News Channel contributor Greta Van Susteren invited Osbourne and his wife Sharon to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Osbourne’s attendance was recognised by then-President George W. Bush, who joked, “‘Party with the Animals,’ ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,’ ‘Facing Hell,’ ‘Black Skies,’ and ‘Bloodbath in Paradise’ are just a few of Ozzy’s huge hits. Mom enjoys your work, Ozzy.” According to the Sunday Times Rich List, Ozzy and his wife are one of Britain’s wealthiest couples. Due to illness difficulties, Osbourne was admitted to an undisclosed hospital on February 6, 2019, and the European leg of his “No More Tours 2” tour was postponed. Given the physicality of the live performances and a lengthy travel schedule throughout Europe in difficult winter circumstances, the problem was diagnosed as a “serious upper-respiratory infection” following a battle with the flu, which his doctor feared could develop into pneumonia.

Pneumonia affects the airway and breathing, and it is often fatal in the elderly, prompting the use of preventative treatments.  Osbourne was sent to intensive care on February 12th, 2019. Live Nation, Osbourne’s tour organisers, said in a statement that they hoped he would be “well and healthy” and able to complete his March tour dates in Australia and New Zealand.

After suffering significant injuries in a fall at his Los Angeles home while still recovering from pneumonia, Osbourne decided to postpone the whole tour, as well as all gigs booked for 2019.  In February 2019, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which he acknowledged publicly in January 2020. Osbourne cancelled his North American tour for 2020 in February, opting for therapy in Switzerland until April.

Osbourne has repeatedly discussed his prior wild lifestyle, expressing amazement at his own survival through 40 years of drug and alcohol misuse, even though he has managed to stay clean and sober for extended periods in recent years. When Ozzy Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979, he spent the following three months imprisoned in his hotel room, consuming massive amounts of alcohol and other narcotics all day, every day.

If his future wife Sharon hadn’t offered to handle him as a solo artist, he claims he would have perished.Osbourne told the Los Angeles Times in 2003 that a Beverly Hills doctor’s prescription medicine nearly rendered him unconscious. In a single year, the doctor is accused of prescribing 13,000 dosages of 32 medications. The Beverly Hills physician, however, was cleared of all charges of over prescribing following a nine-year investigation by the Medical Board of California.

For several years, Osbourne had tremors, which he attributed to his drug abuse. He discovered it was Parkin, a hereditary disorder with symptoms comparable to Parkinson’s disease, in May 2005. To battle the condition’s involuntary shudders, Osbourne will have to take medication every day for the rest of his life.

As seen on the television show The Osbournes, Osbourne has minor hearing loss and frequently asks his family to repeat what they say. Scientists from Knome joined Osbourne on stage at the TEDMED Conference in October 2010 to share their investigation of Osbourne’s entire genome, which revealed how the famously hard-living rockstar has survived decades of drug misuse.

Osbourne announced on Facebook in April 2013 that he had started drinking and doing drugs for the previous year and a half, adding that he “was in a very dark place,” but that he has been sober since early March. He also expressed regret for his “insane” behaviour during that time to Sharon, his family, friends, bandmates, and fans.  Ozzy and his son Jack (who has been sober for 17 years) spoke openly about their sobriety in a February 2021 interview with Variety. Ozzy stated that he had been sober for around seven years.
