Pitbull is an American rapper and musician born Armando Christian Pérez (January 15, 1981). Pérez began recording reggaeton, Latin hip hop, and crunk music in the early 2000s for a variety of labels. M.I.A.M.I., his debut album, was released in 2004 under TVT Records, with Lil Jon serving as executive producer. Pitbull followed up with El Mariel, his second album, in 2006, and The Boatlift, his third, in 2007.

Rebelution (2009) featured his breakout smash single “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” which reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the UK Singles Chart. Pitbull’s next English-language album, Planet Pit (2011), contained his first US number one hit “Give Me Everything,” which he released after reinventing himself as a pop artist (featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer).

The single “Timber” (with Kesha) from his subsequent album, Global Warming: Meltdown (2013), reached No. 1 in eighteen countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. “Feel This Moment” (with Christina Aguilera), the album’s next single, was a Top 10 smash in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK. He sang “We Are One (Ole Ola)” (alongside Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte) as the 2014 FIFA World Cup’s official theme. On September 27, 2019, Pitbull dropped his new album Libertad 548. The RIAA Latin 9 Platinum hit single “No Lo Trates” may be found on the new album (featuring Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha).

On January 28, 2021, the album received RIAA Latin Platinum certification for the single “Me Quedaré Contigo,” which also included Ne-Yo. Pérez was born in Miami, Florida, on the 15th of January 1981.  He could recite the works of José Marti, Cuba’s national hero and poet, in Spanish when he was three years old.

He was influenced by the Miami bass pop music genre as a child, citing Celia Cruz and Willy Chirino as musical influences.  Pérez’s parents divorced when he was a child, and he was reared by his mother before being adopted by a family in Roswell, Georgia. He went to South Miami Senior High School before attending Miami Coral Park High School, where he concentrated on rapping.

Pitbull was his stage name because dogs “bite to lock,” he explained. It’s impossible for the dog to lose. In Dade County, they’re also illegal. They are essentially who I am. It’s a never-ending battle.” Pitbull was featured on Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz’ album Kings of Crunk in 2002, following a meeting with Lil Jon in Miami.

The following year, Pitbull’s song “Oye” was included on the soundtrack for the film 2 Fast 2 Furious.  Pitbull also released a number of mixtapes that included freestyles and remixes of popular rap songs. Pitbull collaborated with Uncle Luke in the early stages of his career, appearing on Luke’s 2001 album Somethin’ Nasty, which included the hit “Lollipop,” which he co-wrote with Lil’ Zane.

Pérez

was born and raised in the United States. His parents were Cubans who had come to the United States as children. His family instilled in him as a child the belief that he is an American and that he should “enjoy every moment of it.”  His family has fought the Castro dictatorship in Cuba in the past. His aunt had been imprisoned because of her political beliefs.

As a child, he watched Sesame Street and picked up English from there.  Pérez grew up surrounded by drugs, alcoholism, and abuse because his family was poor.  Seeing how those difficulties impacted his environment inspired him to become a businessman, overcome poverty, and provide for himself.

He says he wouldn’t be the person he is now if it weren’t for growing up in Miami, which he describes as a “mixing pot” that exposed him to diverse cultures and taught him crucial life skills. The album’s fourth single “Get Ready,” which Pitbull performed live at the Super Bowl LIV Tailgate Tropicale pre-game show, was later added to the “Dale Más” advertising campaign for a series of pre-game Super Bowl commercials, and a remixed version of the single serves as the official theme song for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. On May 5, 2020, Lil Jon and Chesca released the album’s second promotional song, “Cinco de Mayo.

” The promotional single was played live at the Premio Lo Nuestro 2020, and as of July 2020, the performance had over 2 million views on YouTube. [82] On June 8, 2020, Tito El Bambino and Guru Randhawa released the album’s fifth single, “Mueve La Cintura.” On the same day, an accompanying music video, directed by David Rousseau and recorded in 2019, was also released.
