Jayceon Terrell Taylor (November 29, 1979) is an American rapper who goes by the stage name the Game or just Game. He began his career under the tutelage of fellow West Coast rapper JT the Bigga Figga, releasing a series of mixtapes. He was found by Dr. Dre and signed to his Aftermath Records label imprint after releasing his debut independent album Untold Story in 2004.
The Documentary, The Game’s major-label first album, launched him to popularity in 2005, and his follow-up Doctor’s Advocate, released in 2006, extended his success. In March 2005, The Documentary was certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The Game was a rising musician in the 2000s who was credited for reviving the West Coast hip hop culture and battling with several of his East Coast peers.
